This Friday begins the April edition of Camp NaNoWriMo, everyone's favourite (or not so favourite) festival of smattering a number of words each day to reach a (seemingly) impossible goal; and once again, I'm taking part... rather earlier than I expected.
Originally, I had decided to partake in the July edition with the project at hand (a revamp of last year's entry), but, either because of determination to complete the project and enthusiasm just to get that story out there, it was brought forward, at perhaps the most inconvenient time, with July spent on the revision. April is meant to be a very busy month this year; not only the typical university work, but also exam revision, a creative writing assignment due in on the 27th and planning for my final project in that module too. Why I decided to do this, with a high word count (half the default amount, with an over 800 per day output), in a time when I'm supposed to be busy? I must be living on the edge.
However, as last year showed, it is doable. Having a head start in the Easter holidays, and a flexible schedule, was helpful, and CN's adjustable goal is a godsend. The story too, is planned to be written over two months, with the first half being done in April, etc. As for if I will reach my daily goal...
That being said, last year, I was in it to win; this year, it's a bit more relaxed. I'm not fighting for anything; just completing a tale I want to get out.
On this blog, I'll be posting about my many adventures in Camp NaNo, and slowly, but surely, revealing more about this... little project I have at hand.
Will there be a second triumph in a row? Or will procrastination, perfectionism, and lack of time get in the way?...
